One officer wore an Easter bunny costume and then proceeded to enter a crosswalk. Any motorist who didn’t yield the right away to the bunny were then stopped by another officer and issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way to pedestrians.
In New York, failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian is a 3-point ticket. They are commonly issued in New York City but fortunately I have yet to see a police office set up such an elaborate (or bizarre) trap to catch motorists.
