Due to COVID-19, each New York traffic court is closed including all eight New York City Traffic Violation Bureau locations will be closed for, at least, 30 days. There are eight Traffic Violations Bureau offices run by the DMV in New York City. Each other city, town and village have their own traffic courts, including the Suffolk County Traffic Violations & Parking Agency and the Nassau County Traffic Violations & Parking Agency, and those also have closed.
In New York City, for many cases, those with pending suspensions for missed dates or scofflaw notices have been automatically scheduled for April 20, 2020. If you think you have been suspended, you may be in luck. If you want to confirm, call our office as we can run your record and check on the status of any NYC traffic ticket.
If you have an open ticket, your court date will be re-scheduled. If you have an suspension, you’re likely going to remain suspended until things normalize. For those with scofflaw notices, you may have gotten lucky and had your case scheduled (or re-scheduled) without a suspension.
