After Los Angeles, NYC motorists wasted the most time out of 90 U.S. metropolitan areas.

According to the Urban Mobility Report conducted by the Texas Transportation Institute, the average New York City driver wasted forty-four hours due to rush-hour traffic congestion in 2007.

The study found that it took New York City drivers 37% longer to get to their destinations when driving during rush-hour time periods resulting in $8.18 million in lost time.
