Worst Places to Park in NYC Revealed
Jackson Heights, Queens, earns the dubious honor of the place where the most NYC parking tickets were issued. During the first half of 2008, traffic agents have issued over 20,000 parking tickets in the 115th Precinct, the most of an precinct. Other highly ticketed areas are as follows:
Brooklyn: 70th Precinct, 75th Precinct and 84th Precinct.
Bronx: 52nd Precinct, 20th Precinct and 44th Precinct.
Manhattan: Midtown South, Midtown North and 1st Precinct
Queens: 115th Precinct, 114th Precinct and 103rd Precinct
Staten Island: 120th Precinct
The least amount of parking tickets were issued as follows:
Brooklyn: 60th Precinct, 81st Precinct and 90th Precinct.
Bronx: 49th Precinct, 41th Precinct and 48th Precinct.
Manhattan: 30th Precinct, 7th Precinct and 23rd Precinct
Queens: 107th Precinct, 112th Precinct and 100th Precinct
Staten Island: 123rd Precinct
Despite these statistics, the overall total number of parking summonses in NYC is down 13% this year compared to last year. This stat could be short-lived, however, given that 200 new traffic agents hit the streets last wek.
