NYC Issues Roughly 9,000 Cell Phone Tickets in 24 Hours
As reported a few days ago on this site, the NYPD held a 24-hour crack down on motorists using a cell phone device without a hands-free device. Over 9,000 cell phone traffic tickets were issued (compared to about 500 on a usual day). Even Edgar Sandavol, a Daily News reporter, covering the crack down was caught and issued a cell phone ticket.
