Two New Speeding Ticket Excuses

Two new excuses for speeding have recently become popular chatter on various social media sites.

The first is the missile balloon defense.   You tie these balloons to your car, and drive as fast as you want.  If you are stopped, you tell the police officer you thought they were real.  This one reminds me of the short film Mater And The Ghostlight, a funny short film which accompanied Pixar’s Cars DVD.

The second one is a variation to the “My speedometer was broken” defense (a defense which is not valid in New York).  The new twist on this equipment malfunction excuse is “Officer, my accelerator got stuck”.   Of course, you better be driving a Toyota for this one to have any chance of success.
