Common Reasons Drivers Hire a Traffic Ticket Attorney in Ontario County, New York

The following items are not a complete list of what we do. For a full scope of what we provide, give us a call and we can direct you to satisfy your needs.

Speeding Tickets

Speeding tickets might just be the most common reason motorists who received a New York speeding ticket call us. Upon receiving the ticket, motorists can get fined between $150 and $600. How big or how small the fine is directly related to how fast the driver was going. Motorists also face a surcharge of $88 or $93. Weiss & Associates, PC helps you with free and direct advice.

Fight a License Suspension

A suspended license can result from too many points on a driver’s record, meaning a motorist violated the law more than one time. Our experienced team of lawyers can help fight any case of this matter.

Red Light Tickets

Red light tickets could mean a motorist failed to come to a complete stop at a red light. They can carry three points as well as a fine between $100 and $300, along with a surcharge.

Obstructing Intersection Tickets

Obstructing intersections (blocking the box aka gridlocking) is when a motorist does not observe a sufficient amount of room for their vehicle on the other side of the intersection and beyond the crosswalk, leaving them stuck in the middle of traffic. Two points might be added to your driving record.

Stop Sign Tickets

If a motorist does not come to a complete stop at a stop sign, crosswalk, or building line, they have violated the law. Three points could be added to their ticket and they might see a $150 fine.

Cell Phone & Electronic Device Tickets

A motorist can be accused of violating the law if a police officer simply observes them holding and “using” their phone. A first offense for a cell phone and electronic device ticket could lead to a fine between $50 and $150. These fines could come with five points added to your driving record, which is a pretty strict offense. Reckless driving also has an offense of 5 points, but it ties into a cell phone and electronic device ticket. The only other ticket that has a point range of this caliber is a speeding ticket of 21 mph or more. Your license could be suspended if you get up to 11 points on your driving record.

Points and Fines Associated with Ontario County Traffic Tickets

The state of New York uses a point system to tally how many offenses are on a driving record along with how bad the offenses are. Fines are paid to the government as a consequence of the NY Traffic Ticket. Both numbers vary on how severe the offense is. The worse the offense, the steeper the fine and higher the points.
